Bar Ivoire (4209 Notre Dame West) was the site of many bar fights and
at least two murders in 2002.

A unfortunate fire in the ofices of a tenant rights organization brought down
this old building in 2006. Note that it took the city some time before replacing the
decorative strreet lights on the right side of the picture.
The building housing La galerie d'art Quartier Libre in 2008 and in 1986 as the Au Coin du Pain. The florist next door was torn down in 2006 after a fire destroyed the rest of the block. In 2010, condominiums have started to go up next door.
Restaurant John was opened in 1919 by Greek immigrant John Volikakis. The restaurant is now run by the third and forth generation of the same family.
